Della Margaret O'Brien, 85 of Springfield formerly of Morrisonville passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 11:05 AM at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born March 18, 1922 in Malta, Montana the daughter of the late Isaac Frank and Nellie O. (Cronkhite) Baker. Della married Jessie Carrol O'Brien on November 15, 1943 in Missouri; he preceded her in death on May 7, 2007. Also preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Floyd and Roy Baker, 2 sisters, Laura Kendle and Cora French and a grandson, Greg Podshadley.
Mrs. O'Brien was a homemaker and had been a cook at St. Maurice School in Morrisonville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morrisonville.
Survivors: Daughters, Judy Gobel and Roberta (husband, Terry) Podshadley both of Springfield, IL and Karen (husband, George) Hough of Raymond, IL; 7 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Lucille Gallion of Spokane, WA and Juanita Chanlund of Idaho; Many Nieces and Nephews.
Friends may call on Monday, September 24 from Noon until 1:00 PM at the Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 24 at 1:00 PM at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in Kettlekamp Cemetery at Nokomis.
