Dennis L. Boggs

Dennis L. Boggs, 70, of Mt. Auburn, IL passed away at 6:20 P.M. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Eastview Terrace Care Center, Sullivan, IL
He was born in Canton, IL February 12, 1946 the son of Delferd C. and Loretta I. (Gilmore) Boggs. Dennis married Peggy Ley October 23, 1992 in Taylorville, IL.
Mr. Boggs retired in 2005 after working all his life as a bricklayer from the Illinois Local #8 Bricklayers in Springfield. He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Surviving are his loving wife of 23 years Peggy Boggs of Mt. Auburn, IL 3 sons Jeff Boggs, Michael (Mary Kay) Ley, Shawn (Angie) Ley 2 daughters Julie Boggs, Shelly (Nathan) Hartry 3 brothers Roland, Bob and Kevin Boggs a sister Betty Gorsich, 5 grandchildren Tiffany, Rachael and Taylor Ley, Michael (Kara) smith and Bobby (Meghan) Smith, 3 great-grandchildren Brooklin, Branson and Shanna Smith along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 P.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Long's Tavern in Mt. Auburn, IL. Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
