Don 'Kork' Doll Jr.

Don ‘Kork’ Doll, Jr., 75, of Greenville, Illinois, passed away on July 13, 2026, at DeGreeff Hospice House, Mercy Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri. He is the son of Donald F. and Elizabeth Jean (Wasmuth), Sr. On June 24, 1978, he married the love of his life, at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Illinois and together, they enjoyed over 48 years.

Kork was a man who lived life with an unmatched intensity and resolve. From his early days in Pocahontas to his adult years, he was defined by his relentless drive. Kork was always an incredibly hard worker, putting his heart, soul, and endless energy into everything he set out to do. He was a man of firm conviction who never backed down from a challenge—no matter how steep the climb. With that fierce determination came a natural, vibrant love for competition. Whether in his career, his personal pursuits, or daily life, Kork thrived on the excitement of a challenge and the drive to win.

Yet, for all his grit and competitive edge, Kork had a deeply kind, sensitive heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments spent with those he loved. He cherished life in the country with his wife, enjoying the peace and beauty of their home together.

As a father, he was a constant presence in the lives of his children. Kork famously carried a quick-witted, sarcastic charm that his family prized. He loved visiting his “second favorite” son, Josh, at his restaurant, making a tradition of their weekly dinners out. He also shared a special bond with his “favorite” son, Chad, acting as the ultimate companion for countless sporting events and regular breakfast and lunch dates. He was equally dedicated to his daughter, Carrie, and son-in-law, Todd, never missing an opportunity to be on the sidelines or in the audience cheering on his granddaughter, Libby, at her various sports and extracurricular activities.

His warmth extended to his siblings, nieces, and nephews, whose lives he was an active and beloved part.
Outside of his family, Kork chased adventure in the skies as a passionate skydiver, was an avid bowler, and served as a compassionate, loving caregiver to his dog, who was a constant and cherished companion.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, service, and unwavering commitment to his family. He will be profoundly missed by all who were lucky enough to know his unique charm, warmth, and humor.

Preceding Kork in death are his parents and brothers, Tom and Jim Doll.

Surviving Kork are his wife, Jean Doll of Greenville, Illinois; children, Carrie (Todd Morman) of Ballwin, Missouri, Josh Doll of East Highland, Illinois, Chad Doll of Greenville, Illinois; granddaughter, Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Morman of Ballwin, Missouri; sisters, Donna Vincent, Mary Burke, Diane Bingham, Janice Betscher, Jane Wilhite, and brothers, Jerry, John, Joe, Dave, and Jeff Doll.

Memorial Visitation: 4:00-7:00 pm., Monday, July 20, 2026, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Hall, 512 S. Prairie St., Greenville, IL 62246.
Memorial Mass: 10:00 am., Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 512 S. Prairie St., Greenville, IL 62246, with Father Jeffrey Stone officiating.
