Donald Grant May Jr.

Donald Grant May, Jr., 74, of Palmer died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville.

He was born April 8, 1931, in Decatur, the son of Donald Grant May Sr. and Aileen (Fchleicher) May. He married Rosella Jane Wilcox, in Blue Mound, on July 9, 1950. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a retired rural mail carrier. He was a member of the VFW and Odd Fellows.

Surviving are his wife; son, Jeff (wife Terree) May of Palmer; grandsons, Caleb May and Jordan May; and sister, Linda Hungate of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Daniel Kent May.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville, with Rev. George Elder officiating. Burial will be in Harper’s Ferry Cemetery with military rites conducted by Taylorville VFW and American Legion.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service on Wednesday in the funeral home.
