Donald H. H. Swiney

Donald H. "Pete" Swiney, 72, of Taylorville, died at 6:30 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2008 in his residence. He was born June 4, 1935 in Assumption, the son of Leo Paul and Sylvia Elizabeth Logsdon Swiney. He is a graduate of Taylorville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Arm. He married Teresa J. Stout in Springfield, Ill. Of February 1, 1964. He was a retired truck driver. 

Surviving are his wife: sons: Donald H. (wife Dawn) Swiney II of Millersville and Robert J. Swiney of Taylorville: Grandchildren: Stephen, Scott and Rachel Swiney, all of Millersville. Brothers and Sisters: Betty Heninger of Haure, MT., Leo T. (wife Kay) Swiney of Owaneo, Duane Swiney of Taylorville, Helen (husband Keith) Bricker of Taylorville, Paul (wife Andi) Swiney of Taylorville, Janet Stephens and companion Charles Grant of Taylorville, and Kathryn (husband Robert) Ricci of Taylorville., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marion. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Assumption. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville.
