Donald Eugene Wall, 77, of rural Sorento died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at 7:05 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland after a four month battle with a brain tumor.

Visitation will be today, Friday, Aug. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Alice True presiding. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.

Born July 9, 1932, near Old Ripley, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Maude (Nance) Wall. He married Leola Boyd on Oct. 25, 1952, and she survives.

Mr. Wall farmed and lived in the Sorento area all his life, excepting the time he spent in the Army from 1952 to 1954 when he was stationed in Trieste, Italy. He was a member of the Sorento American Legion Post 713 and was an avid collector and restorer of antique Oliver tractors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Donald L. (wife Susan) Wall and Steven E. (wife Ricarda) Wall of Sorento; daughters, Teresa A. (husband William) Boudouris of Highland, and Pamela A. (husband Keith) McFarland of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, Donald A. (wife Laura) Wall, Leah (husband Christopher) Hundley, Audrea Wall, Bryan Boudouris, Bradley Boudouris, Rachel (husband Joseph) Marti, Markus Wall, Kyle (wife Elizabeth) McFarland, Kristopher McFarland, Kelsey McFarland and Kaitlyn McFarland.

Also, four great-grandchildren, Cole Wall, Jack Wall, Aubrey Wall and Austin Hundley; sisters, Robertta (husband Walt) Mayer, Evelyn Holcmann and Elenora Krekel all of rural Vandalia; brothers, Robert Wall of rural Vandalia, Harry (wife Doris) Wall of Litchfield, and Louie (wife Sandra) Wall of Greenville.

Two brothers, Eldon and Charles Wall preceded him in death as well as a sister, Marie Lammert.
