Doris Marie Massey

Doris Marie Massey, 79, of Sorento, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL.

Doris was born May 3, 1938, the daughter of Clyde Ray and Marie Marguerite (Zeller) Langel.  She married Willard Willas Massey on December 26, 1956 in Old Ripley, IL.  He preceded her in death on December 2, 2004.

Doris was a homemaker until her children left the house.  She then worked at Galaxy Restaurant in Alhambra, Hampton’s Nursing Home in Alhambra, Hitz Memorial Home, and finally at Basler Electric in Highland, where she would retire in 2002.  She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, deer hunting, singing, whistling, and yodeling.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, David L. Langel.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Kathy S. (husband, Kendall) Brink of Sorento, Connie M. (husband, Paul) Kelley, Sr. of Sorento, Cindy K. (husband, Dale) Brown of Mulberry Grove, and Mary A. (husband, Mike) Essenpreis of Sorento; grandchildren, Kory (wife, Chasity (Cusick)) Brink, Kevin Brink, Brandie (husband, Jack) Hauskins, Paulie (wife, Katie) Kelley, Jr., Darrin (wife, Jennifer) Kelley, Ashley Widel, William Davis, Rachel (husband, Joe) Marti, Nicholas (wife, Michelle) Brown, James Essenpreis, and Shannon (husband, Andrew) Smith; great grandchildren, Kyle, Emma, Kaleb, Kaden, Gracie, Kaylen, Kolin, and Arabella Brink, Lily and Allee Hauskins, Alexis, Evry, Daryn, Lillabelle, and Sophie Kelley, Jackson Isringhausen, Jaylon Widel, Natalia and Taylor Marti, Sarah Brown, and Alice Smith; sister, Glenda (husband, Joe) Trame of St. Rose, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 201 S. Main St., Sorento, IL 62086, with Rev. Randy Whitehead officiant.

Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento, IL.
