Dorothy J. Passoni

Dorothy June Olehy Passoni, 89 of Taylorville passed away 6:12 AM on Monday, August 17, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on March 20, 1926 at Jasonville, IN the daughter of Estel and Mary (Wilkes) Sexton. She married Charles E. Olehy; he preceded her in death during World War II. She then married Peter Passoni in 1946; he preceded her in death in 1988. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents; Son, Michael Passoni; Sister, Virginia Drnjevic; Brothers, George Sexton and Donald Sexton.

Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She had previously worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company, Sangamon Ordnance Plant, Frisina Hotel and Blue Classic Motel. She enjoyed going to the circus and loved birds, animals, flowers and most of all her children and grandchildren.

Survivors: Sons, Ed (wife, Karen) Olehy of Peoria, IL, Larry Passoni (companion, Carole) and Nick (wife, Linda) both of Stonington, IL and Mark Passoni of Taylorville, IL; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Step Grandchild; 12 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 21, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lance officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time of service at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
