Drew Michael Pettijohn, 19, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his residence.
 
Drew, known by his closest friends and family as “Drew Boo” and “Elmo”, was born December 4, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV, the son of Shawna M. Matthews and David M. Pettijohn.  He had a great sense of humor, and always knew how to cheer someone up when they were having a bad day.  Drew loved his family dearly, and was especially protective of his siblings.  He was a cat whisperer, and enjoyed mudding, fishing, and hunting.  Drew loved kids, and they loved him, especially his nieces.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Frank and Jenny Parker, and Stan and Gerry Matthews; paternal great grandparents, Jerry Stanfill, and Margaret and Edward Morris; uncle, Richard Dale Stanfill; cousin, Joshua Kates; and great aunt, Yvonne Gubler.

Drew is survived by his mother, Shawna M. Matthews of Morrisonville, IL; father, David M. Pettijohn of Oxford, AR; siblings, D.J. Stanfill of Utah, Marcus (Alana Yucaneer) Matthews of Taylorville, IL, Felicia Stanfill of Auburn, IL, Sierra Bechtol of Blue Mound, IL, Cory Kehl of Las Vegas, NV, Summer Pettijohn of Taylorville, IL, and Autumn Pettijohn of Morrisonville, IL; nieces, Harper and Lennon; paternal grandparents, Rodney and Jacquelyn Stanfill of Taylorville, IL; maternal grandparents, Nancy and Harold Nyman of Gwinn, MI; great grandmother, Normadean Stanfill of Edwardsville, IL; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until the time of ceremony at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 304 Carlin St., Morrisonville, IL 62546, with Rev. Dayle Badman officiating.  Please come Cowboy Casual.

Memorial Contributions may be made to: The Family of Drew Michael Pettijohn, c/o of Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home.  Donations of food may be made to the American Legion Post #721 in Morrisonville, after 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

  5. So hard to believe you are gone Drew you and Devin grew up to be great young men together and I remember all the times you boys spent together. My heart is so heavy for your family right now and my thoughts and prayers to them during this time. Drew hun we will always love and miss you. Gonna miss that laugh of yours and the beautiful smile of yours. I know my son is deeply saddened by this you was his best friend since you were like 5 yrs old and I hope you look over him and all your family and friends. RIP Drew love you!
