Dwain Mitchell

Deain J. Mitchell was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Bird Twp., Macoupin County, a son of Marvel J. and Eunice Joiner Mitchell. He married Ruth Whittaker July 21, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years; son, Roger (Jackie) Mitchell and son-in-law, John (Martha) Purdy; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carolyn Mitchell Prudy; two sisters; one brother and one great-grandson.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army.
