Earl Edward Oller, 79 of Lake Villa, IL passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago.

He was born on June 12, 1929, in Pawnee, the son of Jesse and Pauline Kessler Oller. Earl and his family lived in Gurnee, IL for many years before he and his wife retired to Austin, TX. He returned to Illinois last year. Earl was a combat veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the US Army Signal Corp. He also served in Japan, France, Germany and the United States before retiring after 22 years of service. He was employed by Johns Manville Corp. in Waukegan as a union electrician for 20 years. He lived in Grandwood Park for 25 years and was past president of the Civic Association.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Germaine Goussard Oller of Lake Villa, IL; sons, Alain (Dianne) Oller of Gurnee, IL, Frank (Diana) Oller of Austin, TX, and Curtis (Jodie) Oller of Lindenhurst, IL; daughter-in-law, Roberta of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren: Jenna, Christa, Alexandra, Stephanie and Miley; brother, Butch Oller of Argenta, IL; sisters: Barbara McKinnon, Doris Buck, Joyce Dees, and Linda Moma, all of Taylorville, IL, and Donna Travelstead of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Oller; daughter, Marie Claude Oller; brothers, Keith and Chuck Oller; and sister, Juanita Lawerance.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville, with Father Dan Willenborg officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville where military honors will be conducted at the grave.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville.
