Earl T. Smith, age 65, of Springfield, IL formerly of Greenville, IL passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis MO. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 2, 2019 at 1 PM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Smith Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, December 2, 2019 after 11 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Smith Grove Cemetery.

Earl was born October 3, 1954 in Highland, IL to E. Bill and Mae (Jahnssen) Smith. He is survived by his sons Bill (Denise) Smith of Silvis, IL and Shawn (Christina) Smith of Springfield, IL. He is also survived by his brother Carl Smith of Mulberry Grove, IL along with five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Earl grew up in Greenville and attended Greenville schools. He had worked at Lynn's True Value in Greenville and later for Wehrle Brothers Cellular in Vandalia. He enjoyed spending time with friends and co-workers. He had last worked with Shank Real Estate. He was a member of Cornerstone Ministries in Litchfield and enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters in faith.
