Ellen Marguerite Morrissey, 76, of Langleyville died at 5:35 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2009, in her home.
She was born November 12, 1932, in Nokomis, the daughter of Edward and Edna Grace Wright Moore. She married John Morrissey and they later divorced. She was a graduate of Pana High School. She worked as a CNA for St. John's Hospital in Springfield, retiring after 27 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her sons: John (wife Susan) Morrissey of Taylorville and Lester (wife Beverly) Morrissey of Tampa, FL; daughters: Cheryl (husband Mark) Waterman-Schuyler, Kaysie Maxwell and Laura (husband Emery) Staples, all of Taylorville, and Debra Delay of Tampa, FL; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Russell (wife Betty) Moore of California, Eugene (wife Betty) Moore of Florida and Cecil Moore of Hammond, IN; sister, Louise of Shelbyville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edward Patrick Morrissey; daughter, Linda Jo Morrissey; granddaughter, Tracy Waterman; and former husband, John Morrissey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, in Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville, with Rev. Philip Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Garden.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, in the funeral home.
