Elsie L. Belcher, 83, of rural Mulberry Grove, IL passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10 AM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, March 17, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Young Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Pleasant Mound Community Center or Payne Cemetery.

Elsie was born October 25, 1933 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Thorval and Lora Marie (Moats) Sorensen. She married Maurice Lee "Mose" Belcher on May 16, 1953 in Medora, Kansas. He died July 30, 2013. She is survived by her children; Karen Wehrle of Mulberry Grove, IL, Allen Belcher and his wife Cathy of Mulberry Grove, IL, Keith Belcher and his wife Angela of Vandalia, IL, Gary Belcher of Mulberry Grove, IL and Kathy Budnicki of Mulberry Grove, IL. She is also survived by a brother Jim Sorensen and his wife Eve of Hutchinson, Kansas along with eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters, two grandsons Matthew Belcher, and Nicholas Budnicki and a granddaughter Stephanie Budnicki.

She grew up in Kansas and moved to rural Mulberry Grove after her marriage where she and her husband farmed. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed auctions, yard sales, and Sunday family dinners. She was a fifty year member of The Tamalco Home Extension and was also an avid Cardinal baseball fan.
