Emma J. Farnsworth

Emma Joy Farnsworth, 86 of Walshville passed away at 1:25 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

She was born on December 15, 1929 at Wichita, KS the daughter of Ellsworth and Ruby (Hemken) Hughes. She married Gerald W. Farnsworth on June 22, 1952 at Litchfield; he preceded her in death on March 2, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Henry A. Hughes and James E. Hughes, 2 nieces, Jamie Joyce and Kim Chambers.

Mrs. Farnsworth worked most of her life as a corporate attorney. She was a member of Park Ridge Baptist Church. At the time of Gerald's passing they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Survivors: 10 nieces; 1 uncle, Otto Hemken of Walshville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Walshville Baptist Church with Rev. Oley Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Walshville Baptist Church.
