Ernestine "Tina" Peat

Ernestine “Tina” Peat, 79, of Taylorville died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

She was born October 31, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of Ernest and Carrie (Thorp) Wingo. She married Fred Peat in April of 1962, and he died in 1974. She was previously married to Gerald Kennedy. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Taylorville.

Surviving are her daughter, Betty (husband John) Fines of Taylorville; sons: Roger, Richard (wife Mary) and Michael Kennedy of Taylorville; grandchildren: Missy and Matt Ruff, Rick, Daphne, and Stephanie Kennedy; great-grandchildren: Alex Stibs, Nick and Bailey, and Peyton and Kaden Kennedy; sister, Doris Moody of Orlando, FL; and brothers: Fred Wingo of Charlotte, NC and Carl Wingo of Taft, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Peat; brother, Clyde; and sister, Barbara.

Cremation rites were accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date.
