Esther L. Hess

Esther L. Hess, 100, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, formerly of Greenville, Illinois, passed on to her glorious homecoming with Jesus her Savior, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Brightly Senior Living, surrounded by loving family.

Esther was born on February 22, 1926, in Sebewaing, Michigan. She was the daughter of Edward and Mary L. (Fishell) Bauer. She married Harry J. Hess on September 12, 1945, in Vassar, Michigan.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her children, Bruce (Karol) Hess of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Aaron (Monica) Hess of Greenville, Illinois, Jo Lynn (Elia) David of Glen Carbon, Illinois; grandchildren, Sandie, Katie, Alex, Michael, Emily, Nicholas; and 10 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, and sisters, Edwina Ruth Dunn and Marion Lindhorst.

Memorial Service: Time & Day to be decided at Navigation Church, 1205 Vandalia St., Collinsville, IL 62234.

A private burial will be held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

The family asks that donations be given in lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, in memory of Esther.

Memorials may be given at the church or mailed to the Bond-Montgomery Camp, 926 N. Elm St., Greenville, IL 62246 – checks may be made payable to: Gideons International.
