Euell "Doc" Griffiths

Euell "Doc" Griffiths, 95, of Sorento passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at 3:20 A.M. at Greenville Regional Hospital.

He was born August 4, 1911 in Sorento the son of Curtis and Josephine (Nash) Griffiths. He married Dorothy V. Cruthis on September 29, 1932 in Greenville, IL. Preceding him in death were his parents, Daughter, Sharon Griffiths, Brothers, Vaughn and Irvin Griffiths, Sister, Wanda Dresser, a Son in Law and Great Granddaughter.

Mr. Griffiths retired from Granite City Steel as a laborer and hod carrier. His memberships include, Sorento Free Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 8661, Laborer's Local 622, Sorento Homecoming Association and Bond Association for the Handicap. He raised and sold watermelons to the Sorento area for may years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and arrowhead hunting.

Griffiths of Sorento, IL; Sons, Lonnie (wife, Gerry) Griffiths and Kerry "Keb" Griffiths both of Sorento, IL; Daughters, Shirley Joyce of Litchfield, IL, Donna (husband, Buster) File of Vandalia, IL, Jan Griffiths and Diane (husband, Vern) Brewer both of Sorento, IL and Jo (husband, Allen) VonderHaar of Greenville, IL; 12 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Wilma Sulaski of Peoria, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday, February 4 from 3:00-5:00 PM at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5 at 11:00 AM at Perfetti Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Fenton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento.

In memory of Euell 'Doc" Griffiths memorials may be made to Fayco Enterprises or Shoal Creek Fire Protection District.
