Eunice Durbin

Eunice Lavone Durbin, 80, of Taylorville, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at Meadow Manor, Taylorville.

Friends may call Thursday, March 5, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, the Rev. Dayle Badman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 31, 1929, in Litchfield, daughter of the late Gerald and Veda (Painter) Darrah. She married David L. Durbin, Sr. on Jan. 24, 1950, in Mississippi. He preceded her in death along with two sisters, Vivian Reed and Betty Lamb, and grandson, Michael D. Durbin.

Mrs. Durbin was a homemaker and had been employed as a CNA at Meadow Manor Nursing Home.

She leaves sons, David L. (wife Angie) Durbin Jr. and Michael D. (wife Sherri) Durbin of Taylorville, and Clifford (fiancee Merlyn) Durbin of Austin, MN; daughters, Marie (husband Dale) Nolen and Karen Lybarger of Taylorville, Veda (husband Rob) Johnson of Marshville, WI, Victoria (companion, Larry) Coyle of Murphysboro, and Wanda (husband John) Dimarco of Florence, AZ; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are brothers, Marvin Darrah of Litchfield and Russell Darrah of Missouri; sisters, Marge Kreevich of Litchfield and Evelyn Lamb of Barstow, CA.
