Evelyn Lucille Huber, 87, of Hillsboro, formerly of Taylorville, died at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, at United Methodist Church in Hillsboro with the Revs. Joy Cashetta and Linda Vonck officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Vanburensburg. Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
A daughter of Henry and Nora (Letich) Bauerle, she was born in Ramsey on Dec. 13, 1923. She married Irwin “Hap” Huber in 1944, which later ended in divorce.
She worked in the Hillsboro Glass Factory for almost 19 years before retiring, and was of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Huber is survived by a son, Bernard “Bernie” (wife Julie) Huber of Hillsboro; two daughters, Betty Rhodes and Lucille (husband Gilbert) Caulk, both of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her pet, Sassy.
Mrs. Huber was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Eugene Bauerle; and longtime companion, Sam Simmons.
