Floyd G. "Jerry" Sloan

Floyd G. "Jerry" Sloan passed away July 9, 2012 at Greenville Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Snyder) Sloan, his son Melvin Dale Sloan and his wife Donna. his brother Leslie Sloan and his wife Polly, his sister Patricia Young and her husband Benjamin, and two grandsons Jesse Sloan and Michael Sloan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Daniel in infancy. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy during The Vietnam Conflict. He lived in Virginia until 1974 when he moved to Greenville briefly and then to Smithboro until 2000 when he moved to rural Keyesport. He had worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter's Union.
