Forrest Bailey Fenton, 86, of Mt. Olive passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 8:35 PM at his home.
He was born on June 29, 1919 at Sorento, Illinois the son of John and Melinda (Jarvis) Fenton. He married his wife of 67 years Gertrude Rosetta Huddleston on June 25, 1938 at Hillsboro. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, James W. Fenton who was killed in the Vietnam War, eight brothers and one sister.
Survivors: Wife, Gertrude R. Fenton of Mt. Olive, IL; daughters, Patsy Martin of Rolla, Missouri and Joyce Acklin of Litchfield, IL; sons, Lee Fenton of Hillsboro, IL and Charles Fenton of Mt. Olive, IL; 20 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren; I Great Great Grandchild; Many Nieces and Nephews.
Mr. Fenton was a member of the Walshville Baptist Church. He worked at Fort Wipple VA Hospital in Prescott, AZ as a nursing assistant. He also worked at A.O. Smith, Shell Oil Company and was an electrician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Friends may call on Monday, January 23 from 11:00-1:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23 at 1:00 PM at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, with Rev. Oley Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento.
