Frances Lake

TAYLORVILLE - Frances Opal Lake, 92, of Taylorville passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009, at 1:25 a.m. at Taylorville Care Center.

She was born January, 12, 1917, in Pawnee, the daughter of the late Francis Ralph and Edna Opal (King) Buckles. She married Ross C. Lake on December 31, 1934, in Taylorville; he preceded her in death on April 26, 1989.

Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Dolores Orr; brother, Dale Buckles; sisters, Juanita Roth, Julia Hinton and an infant sister; 2 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 1 great-granddaughter.

Frances was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian County Senior Citizens, Eagles Club and the Moose.

Survivors: sons, Ross D. (Phyllis) Lake of Bonita Springs, FL and Terry D. (Susan) Lake of Naples, Fl; daughters, Fran M. Muller of Canton, OH and Debra L. (Mark) Howard of Tovey, IL; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Juanita) Buckles of Taylorville, IL; sister, Eula Schroyer of Taylorville, IL; companion and friend, Jordan Heberling of Taylorville, IL.

Friends may call on Sunday, February 22, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville. Funeral mass will be held Monday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dan Willenborg officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
