Gaylan M. Hueter

Gaylan M. Hueter, age 58, of Mulberry Grove, IL passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11 AM at The Mulberry Grove First Church of Christ. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery, Hargarstown, IL. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Mulberry Grove American Legion Post #1180. Friends may call Monday after 10 AM at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to The National Association for Children of Addiction.

Gaylan was born September 25, 1959 in Highland, IL to George H. and Audrey L. (Nelson) Hueter. He is survived by his mother Audrey L. Matthews of Mulberry Grove, IL, his father George H. Hueter of Greenville, IL, his children - Brandon Hueter and his wife Suzanne of Highland, IL, Kyle Hueter and his wife Cyndi of Troy, IL, and Kayla Hager and her husband Frank of Herrick, IL. He is also survived by his sister Karen Blankenship of Vandalia, IL, his brother Greyson Hueter and his wife Mary of Highland, IL, along with nine grandchildren, Rileigh Bent, Callista Hueter, Anthony Bent, Addison Bent, Lian Taylor, Logan Hueter, Layna Hueter, Brady Hueter, and Carter Hager. He was preceded in death by his step-father Leonard Matthews and his step-mother Martha Hueter.

He grew up in the Greenville area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1990 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the military he worked as an over the road truck driver until 1999.
