Gerald Gordon "Red" Reed, 90 of Panama, IL passed away Thursday, September 11,
2014 at 9:25 P.M. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro.

He was born on April 2, 1924 at Sorento the son of August W. and Lydia J.
(Gordon) Reed. He and Agnes Charline Fietsam were married on October 18, 1952
at Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents; Son Rodney Reed and
several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Reed was a retired gas serviceman for Illinois Power Company. He was a
lifetime and charter member of the Panama VFW Post 6628, a lifetime member of
the St. Louis Metro POLKA Club, where he also served as Vice President for 10
years and a member of Labor Local 397 of Granite City, IL. He was a
veteran of the Army serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Charline of Panama, IL; Sons, Edgar "Scooter"
(fiancAC. Mary Kern) Reed of Panama, IL and Michael (Michelle) Reed of Granite City,
IL; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; Brother, Raymond Reed of Swansea,
IL; Sisters, June German of Nokomis, IL and Dorothy "Dot" Daily of Sorento, IL; Many
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at
the Perfetti Funeral Home in Panama with the Rev. Father Charles Edwards
officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Panama with military
honors conducted by the Department of Defense. Visitation will be held from
10:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Carlinville, Illinois 62626 or Union Cemetery Maintenance Fund.
