Gertrude Evelyn (Hemken) Seal

Gertrude Evelyn (Hemken) Seal, 71 of Wichita, KS passed away Friday, June 20, 2008 at 1:30 AM at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita. 

She was born May 16, 1937 in Grisham Township the daughter of the late Charles Leslie and Dorothy K. (Watson) Hemken. She married Robert B. Seal on February 8, 1975 at Bartlesville, OK. Preceding her in death were her parents; Brother, Raymond Hemken; Step Daughter, Karen Curry; 4 Nephews and 1 Great Niece. 

Mrs. Seal worked as a nurse's aid at Wesley Hospital in Wichita for several years. She was a member of the Victory Independent Baptist Church in Wichita. 

Survivors: Husband, Robert Seal of Wichita, KS; Sons, Gary (Sandy) Bearden and Tom (Sheri) Bearden both of Hayesville, KS; Daughter, Brenda (Lee) Cook of Pine Grove, CA; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Step Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; 7 Step Great Grandchildren; Step Children, David (Diane) Kawano and Teri Lynn Edwards both of California; Brothers, David Lloyd Hemken, Jason (Judy) Hemken and Rick Hemken all of Litchfield, IL, Ray (Sandra) Hemken and Kevin (Jolynn) Hemken both of Walshville, IL and Paul (Mary Jo) Hemken of Sorento, IL; Sisters, Nora Tolby, Nancy (Don) Koonce and Phyllis Beiermann all of Litchfield, IL and Wilma ( companion, Gary) Willette of Staunton, IL; Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. 

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 24 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00 AM at the Perfetti Funeral Home with the Rev. Elmer W Fenton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.
