Glen Allan Weiss, 85, of Pocahontas, Illinois passed away at 2:15 pm, Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, at Wisetown Baptist Church, 173 Wisetown Road, Greenville, Illinois. A luncheon will be held at the church, following the celebration service.
Born on August 27, 1940, in Millersburg, Illinois to Harry T. and Florence (Kersey) Weiss, Glen spent his whole life as a resident of Bond County, attending local schools and graduating from Greenville High School in 1958. In 1960, Glen joined the Army Reserves, proudly serving util 1961.
In 1961, he married Saundra Reymond, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. Glen was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who truly enjoyed the simple things in life- especially time spent with his grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a hand to help those in need.
He was a faithful member of the Wisetown Baptist Church and worked for forty years at Jefferson Smurfit before retiring. Known as a homebody, Glen found joy in working in his garden, chopping wood, and spending time in the garage. He also enjoyed riding his bike and staying active.
After retirement, he and Saundra made many trips to Branson, where he enjoyed watching the shows. He had a love for old, twangy, country music and cherished the sound of traditional church hymns.
Preceding Glen in death are his parents, Harry & Florence Weiss, and brother, Ray Weiss.
Glen is survived by his wife, Saundra (nee Reymond) Weiss of Pocahontas, Illinois; sons, Todd (Kathy) Weiss and Ryan (Jody) Weiss of Pocahontas, Illinois; daughter, Tracy (Tyler Young) Sanders of Greenville, Illinois; grandchildren, Nathan (Shelby Hanke) Weiss of Pocahontas, Illinois, Marissa (Dylan) Sutherland of Trenton, Illinois, Brooke (Daulton) Young of Pocahontas, Illinois, Autumn (Jed) Kalous of Pocahontas, Illinois, Dylan Sanders of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Brenna(Adam) Kalous of St. Jacob, Illinois, Kayla Sanders of Greenville, Illinois; 5 great grandchildren with another due in July; sister, Rita (Elvin) Zimmerman; several extended friends and family.
