Glenn Allen Durbin

Glenn Allen Durbin, 73, of Taylorville died at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana. 

He was born August l0, 1934, in Palmer, the son of Clyde and Grace Skinner Durbin. He married Sharon Louise Arthur on October 3, 1970, in Taylorville. He worked as a machine operator for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 44 years. 

Surviving are his wife; daughters: Diane (husband Gary) Sassatelli, Denise (husband John) Sassatelli, Deeann (husband Scott) Whitfield, and Dawn Beeson, all of Taylorville, and Glenda (husband Nick) Clark of Edinburg; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Robert Durbin of Taylorville, Carl (wife Pat) Durbin. Franklin (wife Carole) Durbin and Ronald (wife Diane) Durbin, both of Gillespie, and Donald (wife Dorothy) Durbin of Palmyra; sisters: Vivian Durbin of Kincaid, Mary (husband John) Grfffith, Betty (husband Russ) Biondolino and Donna Durbin, all of Taylorville; and several nieces anal nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, March 20, in Shafer Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date. 

Visitation will be held for two hours prior to services in the funeral home.
