Glenn Edwin Pruett

Glenn Edwin Pruett, 66, of Taylorville passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
Glenn was born on March 4, 1952 in Vandalia, IL the son of Donald L. and Betty L. Lansford Pruett.
Glenn, also known as “Ole Dad” or “Pops” to those who knew him best, graduated from Brownstown High School in 1970, and went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Army. Following his service, he went to work as a telephone lineman, and then later as a plumber. Glenn moved back to Taylorville, from Aberdeen, NC where he lived for 20 years, following his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but most all he enjoyed making everyone he met smile.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald L. "Bud" Pruett and Oscar I. "Ike" Pruett; and sisters, Linda Kay Pruett and Nancy Jo Pruett.
Glenn is survived by his son, Billy (wife, Julie) Pruett of Ft. Worth, TX; grandsons, Connor and Evan Pruett; sisters, Nella (husband, Donald) Vandenbergh of Taylorville, IL, Teena (fiancé, Bob Shivley) Boulanger of Jeisyville, IL, and Sherrie Barnes of KY; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins
Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of ceremony at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin St., Taylorville, IL 62568, with Rev. Dayle Badman officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL, with military honors provided by the United States Department of Defense, V.F.W. Post 4495, and American Legion Post 73.
Glenn's family has requested that casual attire be worn.
