Glen Everett (Spud) McKinnie, 78 of Morrisonville died November 1st at his home. He was born December 12, 1924, in Morrisonville to John and Ethel Jarrett McKinnie. He married Erma Johnson on October 23, 1949, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Nokomis. He was a businessman in Morrisonville for 40 years with his brother as owners of McKinnie Trucking and Feed. He recently in 2002, retired from the Secretary of State office where he was employed for nine years as a security guard.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Diane (husband Richard) Haare and Denise (husband Joe) Bloome and one son Gary (wife Judy) McKinnie all of Morrisonville, six grandchildren Ryan (fiance Nicole Defilippo) Convery of Normal, Marissa (husband David) Bockewitz, of Morrisonville. Michaela Convery of Taylorville, Trisha McKinnie, Adam McKinnie, Joseph Bloome all of Morrisonville. Three sisters, Pearl Lewis of Raymond, Marjorie Blount and Jean (husband Ray) Montgomery of Morrisonville. Two brothers Red (wife Virginia) McKinnie and Ray (wife Judy) McKinnie all of Morrisonville, several cousins, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and a brother Cecil McKinnie.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morrisonville, The American Legion Post, the Taylorville VFW Post 4495, China Burma Road, and he was a member of the Midwest Trucker Association.
