Gomer Charles Havron, 92, of Panama died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 8:32 a.m. in his home.
Funeral services are scheduled for today, Monday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Panama. The Rev. Dave Trover will officiate, and burial will be in Union Cemetery, Panama, with military honors to be conducted by Bond County Memorial VFW Post 1377. Visitation is also today, from 11 a.m. until service time at Perfetti's.
Mr. Havron was born on Nov. 18, 1919, in Panama to Arthur A. and Stella Fay Cunningham) Havron. He married Katherine Bremen on Feb. 21, 1939, in St. Louis, MO; she preceded him in death.
Also preceding him were his parents; one granddaughter; one brother; three sisters; and two sons-in-law.
He is survived by one son, Charles "Butch" (wife Pat) Havron of Panama; three daughters, Mary Kay Spensberger, Henrietta (husband Marvin) Miller, and Karen Chesser, all of Panama; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchil dren; and one sister, Lola Brennock of Laguna Niguel, CA.
Mr. Harvon was a truck driver for Cassens Automotive Transport for 30 years. A lifetime member of Panama VFW Post 6628 and the Donnellson Masonic Lodge, he also was a member of the Teamsters and the Labor Local. A Navy veteran, he served during World War Il.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Panama United Methodist Church.
