Gregory D Braye

Gregory D. Braye, 66 of Morrisonville, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Taylorville Care Center.  He was born on October 5, 1959, in Hillsboro, the son of Mervin and Betty (Engelhart) Braye.  He attended Nokomis High School and was a member of the Morrisonville Baptist Church.  Greg worked in construction for several years with his brother, Mike.  He also worked for 10 years for GSI.  Greg had a love for cats and cared for several.

He is survived by his siblings: Connie Sue McWard of Morrisonville, Brenda Walquist (Lynn) of Karnak, and Belinda Ernst (David) of Harvel; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Mike Braye and Doug Braye; and brother-in-law: Larry McWard.

Greg will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the Morrisonville Cemetery with David Ernst officiating.  Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is assisting the family with arrangements.
