Helen S. Dyson

Helen S. Dyson, 96 of Palmer passed away at 12:25 PM on Monday, October 20, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 5, 1918 at Morrisonville the daughter of Charles and Mary (Klingler) Friedrich. She married Thomas Arthur Dyson in 1936 at Hillsboro; he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 Sisters; 4 Brothers; 1 Granddaughter, Lisa Dunkirk; 1 Grandson, Ricky Shanks.

Helen was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Taylorville.

Survivors include: 3 Daughters, Sharon Bethard and Loretta Dyson both of Palmer, IL and Garnetta (husband, Charles) Shanks of Taylorville, IL; 2 Grandchildren, Randy Shanks of Springfield, IL and Regina (husband, Larry) Wilderman of Taylorville, IL; 7 Great Grandchildren, Brandon Dunkirk, Cody Dunkirk, Allison Shanks, Gabe Shanks, Ashlynn Shanks, Colton Wilderman and Colby Wilderman; Several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Morrisonville Cemetery with Rev. George Elder officiating. Burial will follow at Morrisonville Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Morrisonville Community Ambulance or Advent Christian Church, Palmer.
