Hilda Ellen Ramsey

Hilda Ellen Ramsey, 87, of Taylorville, died Friday,  August 25, 2006, in Banner Gardens Hospice House, Mesa, AZ.

She was born January 18, 1919, in Niantic, the daughter of Lutrell and Mary Ellen Young. She married Wayne Ramsey. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Taylorville. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Loyal Order of Moose.

Surviving are her daughters: Mrs. Larry (Sally) McConnell of Mesa, AZ, and Sue Ann Ramsey of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren: Matthew McConnell and Allison Hafner: great-grandson, Zachary Manuel; niece Nona Martin; nephew, Frank Rice; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Curtis.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, in Shafer Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Spurgin officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Illiopolis.
