Irene Simmons, 87 of Greenville formerly Litchfield passed away Sunday January 15, 2012 at 6:50 AM at Greenville Regional Hospital.
She was born August 27, 1924 at Carlinville the daughter of the late Samuel and Cornelia (Stillwell) Karrick. She married Lester Simmons on December 12, 1969 at Litchfield; he preceded her in death.
Irene was a Certified Nursing Assistantat area hospitals and nursing homes before her retirement.
Survivors: Son, Gene (Sheila) Brauer of Cape Coral, FL; Daughter Carol Wade of Donnellson, IL; 6 grandchildren; Several great grandchildren.
