James (Red) O. Durbin

James 0. (Red) Durbin, 67, of Taylorville, passed away 12-2-2007 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born 8-02-1q40 in Palmer, Ill., the son of Aloysis and Mary Gladys Norris Durbin. He married Martha Brown 4-10-2004 in Taylorville. He was retired for Dunn Asphalt, Decatur and Teamster #279. He was a Trustee of Moose Lodge 1516, and a member of the Eagles and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, daughters: Tina (Louie) Shanks, Renee (Steve) of Taylorville. Stepdaughters - Linda Deweese and Tammy Scott of Taylorville. Sons: Tony (Christine) Durbin of Taylorville. Stepsons: Bruce (Sue) Opolka, Lensburg, Ill., and Scott (Dana) Opolka, of Sparta, Ill. Grandchildren Susanna (Aarron) Durham, Greg (Kalan) Miller of Taylorville. Step granddaughters: Corey and Hailey Opolka, of Sparta, Ill. Danielle Opolka, Lensburg, Ill. Stacie Scott, Taylorville. Step grandsons: Tyler Opolka, Sparta, Ill, Jamie De Weese, and Bobby Scott, Taylorville. great­grandchildren. Sister: Susan (Ray) Gensler of Taylorville, and Eloise (Howard) Davis, Kincaid. Brothers: Al (Velma) Durbin, Lohman, Mo., Eugene (Judy) Durbin and Russell (Pat) Durbin, Taylorville He was preceded by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 4, 20097 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville. Funeral will be Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville. 

Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
