James Riggs Jr.

James David Riggs, 52 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 6:48 A.M. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born on April 17, 1960 at Dexter, Missouri the son of James D. Sr. and Evelyn (Crabtree) Riggs. He married Julie Kay Girard on August 2, 1980 at Taylorville; she preceded him in death on April 3, 2012. His parents, Sister, Vera and brothers, Jerry and Tommy Riggs also preceded him in death.

James was a welder and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include: Companion, Pam Zumwalt of Taylorville, IL; Daughters, April Riggs (companion, Jeremy Friesland) and Ashley (husband, Joe) Rockford both of Taylorville, IL; Sons, Alex and Ryan Riggs both of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren, Gavin Cooper, Dominick Cooper, Jaxon Riggs, Wyatt Cruzan, Braydon Riggs, Kayden Rockford, Jordan Friesland, Jasmine Rockford, Jenna Rockford and Jewliana Rockford; Sisters, Lara DeFord of Poplar Bluff, MO and Tammy Hurst of Danville, AR; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangments.
