Jasper L. Banks, 93, of Taylorville died Monday, March 21, 2011 at 8:35 p.m. in Taylorville Care Center.
He was born October 21, 1917, in Taylorville, to W.W. and Ada Green Banks. He married Lula Milford Banks and she preceded him in death on October 22, 1988. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a construction worker. He was a member of the A.M.E. Church, Taylorville; American Legion and VFW, Taylorville.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers, and two sisters.
Graveside services for Mr. Banks will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, with Rev. Tiney Walker officiating. Military rites will be conducted.
Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home, Taylorville, is in charge of arrangements.
