Jerry L. Tomes

Jerry Lee Tomes Jr. 58, of Greenville passed away at 8:20 PM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born on May 14, 1956 at Terre Haute, IN the son of Jerry Lee and Nellie Mae (Thomas) Tomes Sr. Jerry married Sherrie A. Miller on February 26, 1994 at Sorento Presbyterian Church. His parents preceded him in death.

Jerry was a forklift operator with St. Louis Prestress, Inc. of Glen Carbon. He was a member of First Christian Church in Greenville and United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers Local #295. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include: His wife, Sherrie A. Miller of Greenville, IL; Brother, Jeff (wife, Jean) Tomes of Clinton, IN; Sisters, Roseanne Covington of Sullivan, IN and Cindy Sany of Logansport, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at First Christian Church in Greenville with Rev. Darryl Bolen officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until service time at the First Christian Church in Greenville. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Greenville.

Memorials are suggested to Greenville First Christian Church or St. Louis University Hospital Critical Care Unit.
