Jessie C. O'Brien

J. Carrol O’Brien, 94, Springfield formerly of Morrisonville passed away Monday, May 07, 2007 at 8: 17 AM at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born March 28, 1913 the son of the late Daniel 0. and Matilda M. (Throckmorton) O’Brien. He married Della M. Baker on November 15, 1943 in Missouri. Preceding him in death were 2 sisters, Raeberta O’Brien and Gladys Prose; 2 brothers, Herschel and Bill O’Brien; I grandson, Craig Podshadley.

Mr. O’Brien was a longtime custodian at the Morrisonville High School. He was valedictorian of his graduating class at Morrisonville High School.

Survivors: Wife, Della M. O’Brien of Springfield, IL; Daughters, Judy Gobel and Roberta (husband, Terry) Podshadley both of Springfield, IL and Karen (husband, George) Hough of Raymond, IL; 7 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Gwen Unser of Morrisonville, IL; Many Nieces and Nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 9 from 11:00-1:00 PM at the Moffitt­Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 1:00 PM at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in Kettlekamp Cemetery at Nokomis.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or the Ronald McDonald House.
