Jewell Deltos "J.D." Holshouser

J.D. Holshouser, Jr., age 79, of Vandalia, IL passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at BJC Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10 am, at Young Funeral Home. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery, Mulberry Grove, IL. Friends may call Saturday, June 10, 2017 after 9 am at Young Funeral Home.

J.D. was born June 14, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Jewell Deltos Holshouser, Sr. and Rosemarie Brand Holshouser. He is survived by brothers: Pete and wife Wanda Holshouser of Smithboro, IL and David Holshouser of Mulberry Grove, IL.

His parents and a sister, Myrtle Marie Holshouser preceded him in death.

He spent his early years in Chicago attending Chicago elementary schools. He moved to Mulberry Grove in 1947, graduated from Mulberry Grove High School and joined the United States Air Force shortly afterwards. In the Air Force he was an electronics technician and continued with that trade until a severe auto accident stopped him from continuing to work. He lived in Alton, IL and moved to Vandalia, IL in 1992 until his death.
