Jodi Elizabeth Weitekamp, age 67 of Morrisonville, passed away peacefully at her home on
Wednesday, August 28, 2024, After years of battling, Jodi ultimately won her battle against
COPD and is now at the feet of Jesus. Visitation for Jodi will be Tuesday, September 3, 2024,
from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, Morrisonville, Illinois.
Jodi was born on July 9, 1957, and was adopted by the late Raymond and Dolores Wise. She
attended Huff Junior High, Calvary Lutheran School, and Lincoln Park High School. Throughout
her life, Jodi had many occupations, doing anything she could to ensure her family was taken
care of. Before retiring, you could find her slinging drinks at The Other Bar or the old Midway,
always being the life of the party. Jodi was dedicated to making her donation monthly to St.
Jude, making photo collages for her family, was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to
her St Louis Cardinals baseball, and most importantly, being the best mom, grandma, and great
grandma, anyone could ever ask for.
On July 5, 2003, Jodi married the love of her life Steven “Steve” Weitekamp in Shelbyville, IL,
and he survives. If you know Jodi, you know there is no such thing as step or half, family is
family. Alongside her husband, also surviving are her children, Amy Wyle of Butler, Illinois,
William “Billy” Wyle of Morrisonville, Illinois, Michael (Becky) Weitekamp of Galisburg, Illinois,
Matthew (Rachel) Weitekamp of Normal, Illinois, and Shannon Morgan of Litchfield, Illinois;
grandchildren, Tyler Lanier, Charliene (Brian) Millburg, Call Beiermann, Autumn Wyle, Finley
Weitekamp, Mikaela Weitekamp, Trent Allgood, and Jordan Jett; great-grandchildren, Lexie
Millburg, Ashlyn Millburg, Bella Lanier, Hadleigh Millburg, and Bradee Millburg. Jodi has one
sister, Terry Fulks, a very special friend, Penny Wright, several nieces, and nephews, and many
many more. To know Jodi was to love Jodi and we know she was the most welcoming, open-
hearted woman and was always known for her doors being open to anyone on any given day,
so if you were a friend of anyone listed above…you were her family. Jodi is being welcomed at
the gates of Heaven by her parents, Uncle George and Aunt Riva Schmidt, brother Harvey Pollard, son
Earl Jett, great-granddaughter Kaylee Lanier, and her beloved cats Allie and Albert.
