John Askins

John George Askins, 86 of Sorento passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 7:10 A.M. at Helia Healthcare in Greenville.
He was born May 15, 1923 in East St. Louis, IL the son of John W. and Della M. (Perrett) Askins. He married Mable Pauline Gwaltney on May 22 1954 in East St. Louis, IL; she preceded him in death on December 15 2008 along with his parents, 1 son and 2 brothers.
John was a laborer working mostly in the manufacturing industry. He was a member of United Church of Christ in Alhambra and a veteran of the Army serving during World War II.
