John G. Bandy, Jr.

Graveside service for John G. Bandy, Jr, 63, of Honey Bend will be held Saturday privately by the family in Witt Cemetery. Moffitt – Perfetti Funeral Home, Morrisonville, is in charge of ar­rangements.

No visitation is being held. The family suggests that memorials be directed to Adopt –  A Pet in Benld or the Salvation Army.

Mr. Bandy died at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2004 in St. Francis Hospital. He was 63 years old on May 13.

After retiring from the Army, he owned Big John’s Auto Repair until retiring for a second time. He was a member of the Waggoner American Legion and the Central Illinois Numismatics.

He was born in Long Beach, Ca­lif., a son of John G., Sr. and Florence Stranahan Bandy. He married Sheryl Braye on Decem­ber 2, 1968, in Harvel; she sur­vives. Survivng also are a daughter Janette Triplett and husband Charles of Honey Bend; sister, Rita Hefley of Litchfield; and two grandchildren, Kelson and DeShaye Triplett.
