John J. Plopper

John J. "Buzz" Plopper, 85 of Morrisonville passed away at 2:56 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
John was born on June 24, 1929 at Morrisonville the son of John E. and Mary F. (Durbin) Plopper. His first marriage was to Eleanor Lane, they later divorced. He then married Carole A. Fixsal on June 11, 1966 at Litchfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sons, Michael Plopper in 2009 and Thomas Plopper in 2012; Grandchildren, Jennifer Dobyns in 2002, Jason Akers in 1980 and Justin Akers in 2012; Great Grandson, Zachary Snow in 2010; Brothers, Noah, Otto, Paul and Maurice Plopper; Sisters, Ida Hancock, Josephine Muffick, Patricia Noonan and Martha Phillips; Sons in law, Roy Akers, Ray Myers and Daniel Corbin.
John worked for Wagner Casting Company in Decatur, retiring after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church and Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721. He was a veteran of the Army serving during the Korean War.
Survivors: Wife, Carole A. Plopper of Morrisonville, IL; Sons, John (wife, Michelle) Plopper and Timothy Plopper both of Missouri; Step Son, David Goacher of Decatur, IL; Daughters, MaDonna Brown, Terese Bailey and Elizabeth Carithers all of Missouri, Rhonda Corbin of Taylorville, IL, Tammy (husband, Rick) Bess of Morrisonville, IL and Cindy Barricklow of Springfield, IL; Sisters, Regina Port and Theresa Hill both of Athens, IL; Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville with Deacon Patrick O'Toole officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Perfetti Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Maurice Catholic Church.
