Joyce Ann Thacker

Joyce Ann Thacker, 74, of Sorento, IL, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at her residence.

Joyce was born August 24, 1944 in Clinton, KY, the daughter of John and Juanita (Moser) Vance.  She grew up in New Douglas, IL with her eleven siblings.  Joyce married David W. Thacker on October 23, 1968 in Hillsboro, IL.  She was a homemaker, and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.  Joyce loved the outdoors, spending much of her free time camping, fishing, and riding motorcycles with David.  She was a talented painter, and painted many landscape scenes on old saw blades and barnwood.  Joyce also loved animals, and would never turn a stray cat away.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Chuck Vance, John Vance, and Billy Osborn.

Joyce is survived by her husband, David W. Thacker of Sorento, IL; sons, Rodney (April) Thacker of Chatham, IL, and Randy (Jennifer) Thacker of Sorento, IL; grandchildren, Josh (Natalie) Thacker of Collinsville, IL, Brayden and Dylan Thacker of Chatham, IL, Shelby Thacker of Maryville, IL, Blake Thacker of Raymond, IL, and Carly Thacker of Sorento, IL; great granddaughter, Lily Thacker; siblings, Barb May, Susie Vance, Dorothy Osborn, Diana Osborn, Clyde Osborn, Jr., Kenneth Osborn, Tina Osborn, and Jimmy Osborn; step-father, Clyde Osborn, Sr. of Staunton, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: The family will receive guests from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 201 S. Main St., Sorento, IL 62086.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Sorento, with Rev. Frank Loskot, Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow the ceremony at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento, IL.
