Katherine Mae “Kathy” Abbott, 50, of Taylorville, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her home.
She was born August 18, 1960 at Norfolk, Va., the daughter of George Edward and Alice Mae (Tucker) Harter. She married Alvin Willis Abbott on June 27, 1980 in Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Diane Harter.
Kathy worked as a CNA at Taylorville Estates and had also been employed at Christian County Mental Health for 13 years.
Survivors: husband, Alvin W. Abbott of Taylorville, Ill.; sons, Michael Abbott and Matthew Abbott (companion, Rebecca Ittenbach) both of Taylorville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Trevor Michael Abbott and Haylie Ittenbach; brothers, Randy Harter and Eugene (Ruth) Harter both of Kincaid, Ill.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23 at 10 a.m. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville with the Rev. Chad Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home.
