Katherine Menietti Tex

Katherine Menietti Tex, 88, formerly of Taylorville, passed away peacefully at 9:45am Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 at LeRoy Manor Nursing Home, LeRoy, IL. 
She was born June 7, 1919 in Taylorville to Celestino and Anna Menietti. She married Rodell Tex on February 3, 1941 in Taylorville. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1995. 

Surviving are her two sons: Ronald (wife Susan) of Macomb, and Jim (wife Sandie) of Palm Bay, FL; one daughter Cathy "Tex" (husband John) Kahle of Bloomington IL; five grandsons: Christopher (wife Jennifer) Tex, Nathan Tex, Andrew Kahle, and Connor Kahle; two granddaughters: Stephanie Tex and Courtney Kahle; and one great-grandson, Evan Tex. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Dominic. 

Private family services will be held Wed, March 26, in Taylorville. Shafer funeral home is in charge of arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations go to the Humane Society of McLean County or the local Alzheimers Association. 

Her family would also like to thank all those "angels" (you know who you are) from the Bickford House, Heritage Manor, and LeRoy Manor for their tender care of Katherine these last 7 years. Anyone who knew Katherine immediately recognized her love and devotion to family, friends and neighbors. Katherine also had a passion for golf. She won numerous tournaments and was city champion too many years to list. Equally important to her was faith in our Lord. And we all know that because of HIM, she still lives.
