TAYLORVILLE - Mr. Lawrence A. "Larry" Daugherty, 75, of Taylorville, IL passed away at 9:21 am Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born in Taylorville, Il November 10,1936 the son of Alex and Elizabeth (Nicol) Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty married Violet Wherle and they divorced. He later married Beverly Sexton in April of 1969 and she preceded him in death in December of 1996. Larry was in the U.S. Army Veteran. He retired as a painter from Allis Chalmers, Springfield, IL. Mr. Daugherty was a member of the Taylorville Moose Lodge, Eagles Club, and the Taylorville V.F.W. He really enjoyed playing in various pool leagues and never missed a Cubs game as he was one of their biggest fans. Surviving are: 1 son John Grimes of Taylorville,IL 4 daughters Renee (Tony) Collebrusco of Taylorville,IL Tammy Daugherty of San Diego, CA Judy Kotoch of Henderson, NV Debbie (Craig) Bugg of Raymond, IL 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Beverly.
