Leona Mildred Hamby, 97 of Hillsboro passed away Monday, June 11, 2007 at 3:05 PM at Hillsboro Care Center.
She was born April 6, 1910 in Panama the daughter of Walter and Sarah (Daggett) Havron. She married Clarence Raymond Hamby on June 12, 1928 at Hillsboro; he preceded her in death on October 16, 1996. Her parents, daughter, Opal Pauline Stamberger, son Clarence Junior Hamby, granddaughter, Peggy Ann, great great grandson, Peyton Edwards and daughter in law, Norma Hamby all preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hamby was a member of Sorento Assembly of God Church where she and her husband played music and sang.
Survivors: Sons, Norman (Doris) Hamby and Donald (Elletta) Hamby both of Hillsboro, IL and Calvin (Peggy) Hamby of Cottage Hills, IL; Daughter, Vivian Maxine Elliott of Litchfield, IL; 33 Grandchildren; 66 Great Grandchildren; 15 Great Great Grandchildren; Fay Hamby of Edwardsville, IL; Sister in Law, Diane Hamby of Irving, IL; Former Daughter in Law, Nancy Hamby of Hillsboro, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 14 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15 at the Sorento Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Gary Stanford officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento.
In memory of Leona Hamby memorials may be made to the Sorento Assembly of God Church.
